Constitution

1.    Qualification of membership shall include:

        A.   Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinators.
        B.   Police Officers.
        C.   Representation of any section of the community who in the opinion of the Forum   might be of assistance in furthering the objectives of the Forum.

2.      The membership shall be as widely represented as possible and should not consist of more than 20 members.

3.      The Forum will decide which of its members will be Chairperson, Vice chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Publicity Officer.

4.      The Forum will hold an Annual General Meeting before the 30th June each year.

5.      The post of Chairperson, Vice chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, and Publicity Officer shall be appointed at the Annual General Meeting.

6.      At the Annual General Meeting the Treasurer will present for approval the Forum Accounts. The financial year to run from 6th April to 5th April the following year.

7.      There will be a minimum of 6 meetings per annum. Meetings will take place at an agreed suitable local venue. A quorum will be 50 per cent of the Forum

8.      Sub-Committee task groups or working parties may be formed at the discretion of the Forum to tackle specific projects. Such groups may co-opt other persons, subject to the approval of the Forum.

9.      Any member who fails to attend 3 consecutive meetings or for 6 months (whichever is the greater) without reasonable cause may be required to resign. Forum members should be periodically reviewed. Individuals should resign when they no longer hold the qualification that rendered them suitable for membership, but exceptions may be made e.g. where a person has a keen interest in making a positive contribution to the Forum’s activities

10.      The Constitution can only be changed annually at the AGM by giving 14 days prior notice in writing to the Secretary.

11.      On the dissolution of the Stevenage Neighbourhood Watch Forum, all monies remaining after payment of outstanding debts should be donated to a suitable local registered charity.

12.      Reserve Policy:
A balance of between £1500 and £2000 for use as a contingency fund
