This is a message for Neighbourhood Watch in Martins Wood. An indecent exposure took place in the play area in Jessop Road between 1915 and 1920 hours on Thursday 12th June 2008 where young children were present. He is described as a Asian male, aged 20 to 30 years old, 1.77 m to 1.82 in height, of medium build, with dark brown short spiked hair. He was wearing a black t shirt with writing on the back and a white sports type jacket. This is an opportunity to talk to people about Neighbourhood Watch and its benefits to encourage more people to join a scheme or set up a new one. Angela Clark, the Stevenage Watch Liaison Officer, will be at Waitrose in the Old Town between 10am and 2pm on Tuesday 17th June giving out information and also at Tesco's between 10am and 12 noon on Thursday 19th June giving out cat bells, to help prevent purse dipping in the town. Neighbourhood Watch schemes help to prevent crime by:acting as a deterrent to would-be criminals by advertising that a scheme operates, through street signs and window stickers, helping to solve crimes and catch criminals through an increased flow of information and providing a ready means of disseminating information to members about local crime prevention initiatives, home security measures and local crime warnings.
Please can you be vigilant when using ATM machines and be wary of any devices attached to the machines including pinhole cameras. Any devices and/or suspicious activity should be reported to the police.
