Dear Watch Member,

Dear Resident

Following articles that you may have seen or heard in the national media about an incident at the home of
Myleene Klass near Potters Bar, we would like to reassure you that many of the articles did not portray accurately what actually happened.

Hertfordshire Constabulary officers dealt with Ms Klass sympathetically and with respect, as we do with all members of the public who call for our help.

The following link leads to a statement on our website that explains what happened:
http://www.herts.police.uk/statements/myleene_klass.php

We also have published advice on dealing with intruders so that residents have a clear understanding of their rights as householders to protect themselves against crime:
http://www.herts.police.uk/blue_light/home_security.htm#dealing_with_an_intruder

We would like to remind residents that they should call 999 immediately if they feel that they, or their homes, are in danger.
